Promotional Video For New Driver Simulator Helps Crack US Market | Case Study

» Client: UMS

» Objective: Video campaign

» Duration: 3 mins

» Outcome: Increased brand awareness with more than 8000 views across social media channels. The video will also be used at trade shows and by the sales team when visiting existing and prospective clients.

About UMS

Based in Melbourne, UMS is currently under contract with the Australian Army to deliver the motion-based Driver Training system for Land400 Ph2 (Rheinmetall Boxer vehicle). Derived from a customised industrial robot, the simulator is a highly dynamic motion platform for immersive training that provides high-fidelity simulation and overcomes the limitations of current motion platform technology.

Our Involvement

Our involvement: UMS approached redbikini on the back of a recommendation by an existing local client, APC technology, for our specialisation in video creation for the defence sector. This was despite the fact that UMS is based in Sydney and operates out of Melbourne.

The video’s strategy was to highlight the interchangeable cabins of the Land400 Ph2, as well as the ability to teach drivers how to recover a vehicle when it rolls, something other simulators do not do.

Filming took place in 2020, when COVID had already well and truly made its mark, and our team, while unable to travel to Victoria due to restrictions, completed the task through extensive direction in pre-production, including thorough shot lists, reference shots and pre-created graphics.

The video was filmed by one of our suppliers on the ground in Victoria, using the RED Gemini camera, and a hazer to create atmosphere. redbikini was also able to use existing footage from our extensive defence library.

Scrumptious "Food Porn" Reminds Customers Of Their Balfours Favourites | Case Study

» Client: Balfours

» Objective: Video campaign

» Duration: 3 x 30s

» Outcome: More than 35,000 views across Balfours’ social channels

About Balfours

Established in Adelaide in 1853, Balfours is Australia’s oldest bakery and well and truly a South Australian success story. SA owned and operated, Balfours manufactures and distributes quality sweet and savory treats and has bakeries in Adelaide and Sydney. They are also the creators of the famous Frog Cake, a sponge and cream cake covered with fondant, in the shape of a frog’s head.

Our Involvement

With an already long-standing working (and eating) relationship, Balfours approached redbikini wanting a video that would remind customers of their favourite baked goods in a fresh and fun way. The premise was ‘food porn’, which was delivered by showing the behind-the-scenes production of the mouth-watering tasty treats. Filmed in studio, the video was shot in super-slow motion with soft lighting and a deep black infinity backdrop. Brendan and Nat of Homan Photography were the talent behind the styling of the delectable goodies, while the ‘money shot’ was devised by our creative director Justin – a hanging donut being covered in its signature chocolate.

Music aligning with a popular genre was also commissioned for each Balfours product featured, adding another element of interest.

The ads played at the Moonlight cinema over the summer season while simultaneously distributed online.

High Level Corporate Video Increases Recruitment For Defence Supplier, Nova Systems | Case Study

» Client: Nova Systems

» Objective: Video campaign

» Duration: 1min 30

» Outcome: Increased brand awareness and recruitment effectiveness, following more than 2000 views on YouTube and LinkedIn.

About Nova Systems

Nova Systems is a Professional Service Provider, specialising in the provision of engineering and management services. Australian owned and operated, it provides independent expertise in delivering complex projects to government and industry, including the Defence Sector.

Our Involvement

Nova Systems came to redbikini seeking a high-end corporate video showcasing the company’s achievements, as well as the unique and fun culture behind the brand to appeal to potential employees. With an already established working relationship with Nova Systems, having filmed the company on an almost yearly basis for their nominations for the Defence Teaming Centre awards, our creative director Justin devised a clever concept with a fun and cheeky approach to fit the brief. The video was styled like a David Attenborough documentary, namely documenting ‘Novans’ in their natural habitat.

Filming took place around the nation and overseas, from the ASC shipyard and the Edinburgh RAAF base in South Australia, Williamstown RAAF base in NSW to Townsville QLD to Kemble in the UK, and featured stylised portrait videos of staff members, as well as cinematic shots of each of them working on exciting defence projects. Augmenting the piece, were shots of defence hardware that redbikini licenced from the Australian Defence Force media team.

About Murray Bridge

With a clear vision for the revitalisation of their riverfront precinct, the Rural City of Murray Bridge needed a campaign that got everyone excited about the future of the regional town.

In stepped our award-winning video production team at redbikini to come up with the campaign strategy, create the content and showcase the vast investment opportunities Murray Bridge has to offer.

Our Involvement

We were tasked with creating a video campaign, aimed at a diverse and varied audience. We wanted to bring together multiple ideas and concepts into a single story. Thus, through the development of the tagline: Murray Bridge – Make it Yours”, the campaign appeals to individuals, investors and government alike, allowing us to add a human element to a commercial undertaking.

Filming with local businesses and residents opened our eyes to the thriving and welcoming community existing just an hour from Adelaide — the Murray Bridge region is on the rise, ripe with a range of opportunities, from small business start-ups to land development, to housing, employment, and more.

The finished video campaign features hyper-realistic 3D animation, sweeping aerials, time-lapses, lifestyle shots and beautiful portraits of local residents to showcase the community and the town’s future developments. This video kicked off the “Make It Yours” campaign, launched to the public alongside the council’s prospectus.

Our objective was to showcase Murray Bridge to generate major economic activity — in the 12 months since the #MakeItYours campaign launched, over $1 Billion of investment to the region has been realised.
